SHABBAT SHALOM (means peace)

Spending the last three days with Ruth and Cecil Herschler has been wonderful. We shared an elegant Shabbat dinner at our home with them and some of our adult children, and attended services at our synagogue this morning. Yolanda Stom, Shiela Coop and others worked hard to make it comfortable for Judith there, and she was greeted and comforted by many friends.

The new pain management routine worked really well on Friday, and not too well today, for reasons we can't figure out.

But the sun shone on us and our friends, the brush fires are nowhere near our house* and we feel loved and cared for.

WES (the keeper of Shabbat)

*for those of you that don't live in Los Angeles, "fire" is one of our seasons. They are: fire, smog, mudslide and earthquake.

Judith and Wes,
After 5 days in incredible India, I was able to log on to your blog to read the health updates. I was thrilled to see the beautiful photo of you two enjoying the Pacific Ocean and very discouraged to hear about the MD run-around and the increasing pain Judith is experiencing. Today we visited the Hindu temples at Khaejuro and I said a prayer for a miracle. I look forward to seeing Judith upon my return and want her to know we saw Bengal tiger in the forest preserve. She would have loved it!
Love, Carol
