Today was our 13th wedding anniversary, which we celebrated at the hospital with members of our family and a few friends who had attended our wedding 13 years ago.
Our clergy keeps showering us with loving attention: Cantor Frenkel visited mid-day, and Rabbi Reuben and his wife Didi came by later with all the trappings of a wedding, even including flowers for Judith, her mother and me as well as a cake. Steve wanted to help us renew our vows, but timing was a bit off.
Later, in the loving company of family and friends we did renew our vows, exchange rings and express our love for each other. The room was overflowing with flowers sent and brought by many friends, and for a moment one would forget we were in a hospital.
In the midst of pain and sadness sprung love and joy all around.
And then Judith started her new round of chemotherapy.

It was a lovely and touching gathering, you put so much thought into the words and rituals. We felt blessed to be there.
