An Uplifiting Day at UCLA Hospital

Judith returned back to the healing routine today (Saturday), and we all hope that she starts to mend swiftly.

What made it such an uplifting day was a visit of a large number of Ohr HaTorah members that came from Shabbat services this afternoon and spent hours with Judith. When I arrived I could hardly find an inch of space left in her hospital room. After a couple of hours two of the visitors, both lay cantors, along with Mairav, started chanting part of the service. Soon everyone was chanting a part of the service for Judith, in Hebrew (from memory). It was the most moving service I had ever attended, and had many, including Judith and this author, in tears.

What an incredibly loving and supportive community to which we belong!

Shabbat Shalom to all our friends everywhere.

Thank you Wes for sharing Judith's blog with me. It has given me a much better idea of what she is experiencing. As you know, I only recently learned of Judith's battle against cancer and I can still hardly believe that she is going through this. I wish there were some way that I could be of some comfort to her. Please tell her that I love her and that she is in my thoughts daily. I can only hope and pray that she gets stronger and begins the healing process. Please give Judith a great big hug and a kiss from me.
love
