Early this morning (Friday) Judith had the procedure that I described in my last blog. An Interventional Radiologist at UCLA Hospital, using a thin, long needle, guided by ultrasound, withdrew over 10 POUNDS of fluid from Judith's abdomen!
Even though it was not painful, she's a little sore (and slightly shaken) by the experience, but the benefits look to be significant. The pressure that the swelling was putting on the wound is greatly diminished, and perhaps we will have a better chance of finally getting control of it's healing. In addition, Judith can breathe easier, and even walk more easily.
WES (aka the needle lover -- but don't tell the Feds)
