Even though she's Canadian!
Let me explain. Judith's blood test on Friday showed a high white count, and a dangerous infection was feared. They took a culture (get it?) which came back negative on Sunday. So . . .that's good news!
But antibiotics are being continued nevertheless, just to be super cautious.
Judith continues to lose weight (10 pounds in 6 days), and is feeling much better for that reason.
We have dropped our hesitations about Hospice Care, and signed up with a company today. We will be able to keep all the UCLA resources we want, especially our buddy and guardian angel STAN, but will finally get someone who will give us straight answers to all our questions.
Our new goal is to keep Judith out of the hospital forever. The hospice company tells us they can provide any service that we may need that a hospital can, and that they can make Judith's life comfortable, painless, and that they also have resources that can help to make her life as meaningful as possible.
We'll see if they deliver all they promise. We have high hopes.
