The "eagle" being Gerry, Judith's mom, who returned safely to Toronto tonight to have her surgery in Toronto, where it is not only FREE, but where a life threatening condition can be treated with emergency surgery within a couple of weeks! Imagine that!!
We have had quite a few situations in the last couple of days that had they happened previously would have put us right back in the hospital. Fortunately, Susan, our new nurse specialist, keeps running over to our house and taking care of it. What a blessing. What a blessing.
I just hope she finds some way to deal with it all that will alleviate these crises and eliminate so many visits (and so much pain and trauma for Judith).
Judith is loving the visit from her brother and sister-in-law, but we sort of dread the day (Thursday to be exact) when they leave and we will be alone for the first time in a long time.
I have hired a companion/housekeeper/nursing assistant to start Friday, working 5 days a week. That should help a lot. And family and friends are in touch and here ALL THE TIME.
