The past couple of days have been spent in meetings with the surgeons and the oncologists, exploring the options for surgery or no surgery. No one can give us any assurances about the possible outcomes of any course of action.
It's damn scary.
There seems to be a consensus that the wound will never close without the surgery. In addition, all attempts to find a specialized nurse that could care for the open wound at home have been unsuccessful, so the only path seems to be surgery.
The surgeons feel that Judith will need another week in the hospital prior to surgery to try to bolster her blood through the nutrition she gets intravenously.
Love and prayers pour into her hospital room continuously.

Judith and Wes~
It seems we all continue to check in here-- these updates have become an important part of our day, hoping for bits of good news and good signs. Likewise, we do not call so as to give Judith optimal opportunity to gather strength for the road ahead. We send a huge 'group hug' from here in Hancock Park! May we all be sealed for a healthy year ahead.
Love, The Reveres
PS: Happy New Year, Janie!
